C V Raman International Fellowship for African Researchers

The Government of India, in collaboration with The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), launched the prestigious C V Raman International Fellowship programme for African Researchers in 2010 to provide them an opportunity to conduct collaborative research with leading research groups in Indian universities and R&D institutions in areas of Science & Technology. It is open to all researchers in the field of Science & Technology and enables them to undertake research work in India.

Types of fellowships and duration offered under this scheme:

  • Post-Doctoral Fellowship (duration 6 months)
  • Visiting fellowship (duration 3 months)
  • Senior fellowship (duration 1 month)

Fellowships are granted to persons actively engaged in research at a University or research institution in the country and who meet the following criteria for each of the three categories:

  • Post Doctoral Fellowship: PhD
  • Visiting Fellowship: PhD/M.Tech/ M.Sc(Engg/Technical) or 4 to 6 years research/teaching experience
  • Senior Fellowship: Senior experts/Scientists/Professors

Candidates selected under CV Raman Fellowship are offered by the Government of India return airfare, a Sustenance Allowance (including accommodation, food, and local travel expenses), and a  Contingency Grant for unforeseen expenses relating to lab/field research, books, stationeries, medicines, and other miscellaneous expenses.
