4th India-Ghana Joint Trade Committee Meeting | 02 May, 2024

The 4th India-Ghana Joint Trade Committee Meeting was held in Accra on 2-3 May, 2024. The Meeting was co-chaired by Mr. Amardeep Singh Bhatia, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Commerce from the Indian side and Hon. Michael Okyere Baafi Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry from the Ghanaian side. The discussions were reflective of the wide-ranging economic and development partnership and provided a renewed impetus to trade and investment ties between the two countries.

A Business Round Table with the participation of the Confederation of Indian Industry delegation and Ghanaian counterparts was also organized alongside the Meeting.

The Indian delegation for the Joint Trade Committee Meeting called on Hon. Kwaku Ampratum Sarpong, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration and held discussions with H.E. Wamkele Mene, Secretary General of the African Continental Free Trade Area Secretariat (AfCFTA) on leveraging emerging opportunities and increasing engagement with the Secretariat.

A Business Networking Reception was also held with participation of Confederation of Indian Industry delegation from India, leaders of Business and Industry from Ghana, Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, Association of Ghana Industries, World Trade Centre, Accra and stakeholders from diverse sectors of the economy.
